The one thing I always heard from my immigrant Peruvian mother whenever I was upset or stressed, was to deal with such things “con calma” or “with calm”/calmly. The Spanish saying carries a lot more weight than it’s English translation, capturing the idea of being gentle with oneself and taking a moment to just “breathe”.
